Factors Affecting Liposuction Pricing

By | 0 Comments | Rating: 0 | |

Breaking up of the liposuction costs will help to identify the key elements that impact the pricing rates of the procedure. Typically, a plastic surgery cost can be divided into three basis factors. The three major constituents influencing the pricing decision are the surgeon's fee or the price payable for the time and expertise of the surgeon utilized for the procedure, the anesthesia fee that consists of the cost of the medication and the charges of the anesthesiologist, and the facility fee charged on the surgery room and equipment utilized for the process.

The disparity in the scale of operation brings about pricing differences in traditional and laser liposuction procedures. Since the scale of process is lower in laser liposuction, the cost incurred on the same is lower than the traditional method. The smaller scale treatment in laser liposuction requires lesser dosage of anesthesia, creating a major influence to the pricing of the practice.

Generally, the cost for laser liposuction varies with the area to be covered. Larger the area, the greater is the time and effort required in the elimination of unwanted fat cells. This form the underlying reason in describing the cost of the surgeon and anesthesia charges. Typically a surgeon who enjoys goodwill based on his success in liposuction, charges more to the time and effort put in by him during the procedure.

The second element in the laser liposuction fee structure is the anesthesia charges. The charges vary with the amount of the drug employed and the services of the anesthesiologist. Since laser liposuction requires local anesthesia, the cost of the drug is drastically pulled down in the procedure.

The third feature affecting the charges is the cost of the room and equipment. A large scale clinic will enjoy the presence of numerous clienteles offering a perfect opportunity to spread the cost over many bills, thereby bringing down the cost. But it may not be the case always where the profit margin of the clinic is high. The facility price is also dependent on the amount required to recover the cost on equipment and room.

The clinic may have a pricing policy wherein the cost of the surgery vary with the individual requesting treatment. The pricing strategy of the clinic and the geographical location also has a great role in defining the cost of liposuction.
