Fake: spyware search and destroy

By | 1 Comments | Rating: 0 | |

The real program is Spybot: Search and Destroy. Anything with a different name, is spyware itself, and is trying to get you to download MORE spyware, and most likely wants you to pay for it. One example of this is "Antivirus 2009", which looks just like Windows Security Center, and is a serious pain to remove.

For all your antivirus and spyware problems, I recommend using a combination of COMPLETELY FREE tools. Avast Antivirus, Spybot: Search and Destroy, and Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware are almost impenetrable when all three free programs are used together. (NEVER have two anti-virus programs installed at the same time; they will cancel each other out usually and leave holes in your computer's security.)

What most people don't know, is that most anti-virus, anti-spyware, and anti-malware (that you pay for, even) do not work well! If you hear yourself saying "My spyware programs work great, I don't ever have spyware!" ... that's a good indication that your program couldn't find anything. In reality, the majority of PCs have some form of virus, spyware, or malware on them - so if your programs find nothing, it isn't working properly! Free anti-virus, anti-spyware, and anti-malware programs usually work better than those that users pay for!

One thing to definitely keep in mind - ALWAYS update your anti-virus, anti-spyware, and anti-malware programs! Otherwise, your computer is left vulnerable to all new viruses, spyware and malware.

If you currently have viruses, spyware, malware, or think your current programs may not be up to par, I recommend navigating to download.com and search for Avast Antivirus, Spybot, and Malwarebytes; download all of them, uninstall your old programs and install these free anti-virus, anti-spyware, and anti-malware programs. Search for updates in all 3 programs before you run the search for viruses, spyware, or malware, and be sure to do this every time you scan. You should scan your computer with all 3 programs about once a week.

With this combination of fully free programs, you should be almost immune to viruses, spyware, and malware!
