Edgar Rice Burroughs

Edgar Rice Burroughs is the author of Tarzan. He had did ranch work in Idaho when he was younger. After he finished his duty with the military he owned a Stationary store in Pocatello.

Jared Allen

Jared Allen played football for Idaho State University in Pocatello. After his college career he made the NFL. Jared Allen currently plays for the Minnesota Vikings as a defensive end.


Merril Hoge

Merril Hoge is currently an analyst for ESPN. Before his ESPN career he played for the Pittsburgh Steelers. After a very successful pro career he was forced into retirement from multiple concussions.

Merril Hoge graduated from Highland High School in Pocatello. After playing for the Highland Rams he went and played for the Idaho State Bengals.

William Petersen

William Petersen is the actor that played the head honcho on CSI Las Vegas. William Petersen graduated from Bishop Kelly High School in Boise Idaho. William Petersen then he attended college at Idaho State University in Pocatello on a football scholarship.

Kent William Hadley

Kent William Hadley played three years of Professional baseball. He played along side Roger Maris. Kent William Hadley was born in Pocatello in 1934 and died in Pocatello in 2005.

An injury cost Matt Gutierrez the starting quarterback job so he transferred to Pocatello to play for the Idaho State Bengals.

Eddie Bell was born in 1946 in Waco Texas, Eddie Bell later attended college at Idaho State University in Pocatello and then went on to a career in the NFL as a wide receiver.

Other NFL Players From Pocatello

There have been many other NFL players come out of Idaho State University in Pocatello including Pago Togafau, Tom Toner, Bob Otto, Brian Vertefeuille, Case deBruijn, Clyde Logan, Dan MacDonald and a whole handul of other players.

Many of these players only played for 1 or 2 years in the NFL but some of them such as Jared Allen and Merril Hoge have had illustrious careers in the NFL.

Bones Millien

Bones Millien played basketball for Idaho State university in Pocatello and now plays professionally for the Harlem Globetrotters.

Lawrence Butler

Lawrence Butler played basketball for Idaho State University and was part of the team that knocked UCLA out of the NCAA tournament. Lawrence Butler won thecoveted title as leading scorer in national major basketball in 1979 beating the likes of Larry Bird and "Magic" Johnson for the scoring title.

Steve Hayes

7 foot tall Steve Hayes was also part of the Idaho State Bengals squad that knocked of UCLA. After college Steve Hayes played 11 years of pro basketball including his years in the NBA. Steve Hayes was born in Aberdeen Idaho.

AfterMath

There are many more semi-famous people that have ties to Pocatello and many more to come. Pocatello might be just a small dot on the world map but the amazing talent Pocatello consistently turns out will eventually turn Pocatello into a huge dot on the world's radar.

I forgot about Don Aslett! I need to learn more about Greta Garco, thats cool that she danced at Deleta.

Did you know that Larry Echohawk is Mormon and served as a both a stake president and a bishop?
I definitely should of added Larry EchoHawk and Don Aslett. I need to do a part 2 of this article of people from Pocatello.
