This may or may not be the best option for you, and if you decide to reject the college’s offer then you may actually be able to get a better deal if you are willing to look for private lenders on your own.

When you begin to do this you must take into consideration whether the private lender provides private student loans that are school certified, or whether they provide direct, or fast college loans. Private loans that are school certified must be approved by your college before they can be made to you, and they also must always be disbursed through your college.
Fast college loans, also known as direct college loans, are essentially private college loans that do not have to be school certified before they are approved, and they also do not have to be disbursed through your school. These types of private loans can be made directly to you once you are approved, and often times you can receive a check that can be sent directly to your home address in less than two weeks. This is where they got the name “fast college loans”, as they can be approved and disbursed at a much faster rate than your more conventional private college loans. Whether you decide to apply for a standard private loan, or a fast college loan will depend heavily on the interest rate you are able to get at a particular lender so shop around to get the best deal.
