It is about that time of year again, time to give your home a fresh new look. Many people feel that the beginning of fall is a better time to spruce up their homes for the upcoming holiday seasons. One solution, revive their window treatments with new faux wood blinds.

For many people who love the look of wood, they cringe at the concept of having to clean the wood and keep it from drying out due to environmental issues around their homes. Real wood has a tendency to dry out even when it is treated with proper laquers etc. But, you can still can't always avoid the fact that eventually the wood may dry, crack, splinter or worse break in half at some point. Make sure you shop around when finding the right blinds for your home. It is best to check with several different companies before you choose one. When you are ready, be sure to have information ready for a sales representative so that they can give you the most accurate pricing available. You will need window measurements, style of blinds to include color preference, which can be a number of different wood stains from, cherry, mahogany, white wash, natural and much more. If you plan to cover multiple windows, be sure to check the measurements on all windows. Even though, they may look to be the same size, there could be a slight difference in size. It could be any where from a quarter of an inch to a full inch difference.

There are many great manufacturers that offer different variations of the blinds. Companies such as Hunter Douglas, Comfortex, Woodwinds just to name a few. Each have their unique quality and comparable prices.

Be sure you do your research on companies you may be interested in. But, don't only use the internet as your only source, check with local companies in your area to get the best pricing available. Many companies may offer to send someone out to do measurements and speak to you personally. Beware, in many cases, some of the representatives can and usually do get a little pushy towards their product and can sucker you into a sale before you are ready. Be sure you know the facts on faux wood blinds before you buy.
