Get Back Your Energy!
Fatigue is a common problem for many of us these days. The lack of energy can affect more than just our lives. It can affect the lives of the people who are closest to us. So if you are feeling tired all the time, you may feel as though the situation is hopeless. I’m here to tell you it’s not.
Getting back your energy may only involve a few simple steps. You may not be able to do all of these tips at once, but see which ones work with you and your daily life.
Change Your Socks
It’s as simple as it gets, but this one trick works like magic. I can’t tell you why, but after a long day, changing your socks will give you a burst of freshness.
Run on Your Natural Clock
Our bodies are meant to go to bed when it gets dark and wake up when the sun comes up. Keeping close to this cycle will mean more energy. The reason is because your body will produce energy giving hormones from sunlight and energy robbing hormones (melatonin) when there is no light.
Eating a healthy snack when you get tired is a great way to sneak in some energy. You may be tempted to go for a quick energy boost like sugar or even coffee, but the energy will be gone before you know it, leaving you more tired than before. Eating a healthy snack like berries will give you lasting energy.
The trick to a good nap is to not go into deep sleep. If this happens you will feel groggy and tired when you wake up. Aim for 10 – 15 minutes each nap. A great trick is to drink some coffee or tea beforehand. After about 15 minutes the caffeine will kick in, and waking up from your nap will be a breeze!
In many cases people feel tired all the time because they are dehydrated. Drinking plenty of water (10-12 cups a day) will keep you at the peak of alertness. You’ll also cut down on hunger cravings!
Avoid Energy Drinks
Don’t be fooled, energy drinks will almost certainly end in a crash. Energy drinks are like energy credit cards. You’re spending a lot of future energy for short term energy. Avoid them at all cost. In fact if you are feeling tired all the time and drink energy drinks, they may be the case (how ironic!).
Splash Some Water On Your Face
People tend to do this in the morning to “wake up”. But splashing some water on your face throughout the day is a great way to get more energy and feel more refreshed!
