"You are only as old as you feel". Do you wish you felt younger than you do? Most of us do. There is a multibillion dollar industry based on the pursuit youth. I am going to offer 7 ways to help you to continue feeling young. I have personally tested all of these methods and have found them very effective.
The first way is to move. Remember how active you were as a kid, always moving and never wanting to sit still? It is nearly impossible for any of us to be as active as we were as a child but we can be more active than we currently are. Try beginning with 10 minutes of activity in the morning. Make sure that you smile. It has been said that not only do you smile because you are happy but also that you are happy because you smile. Happiness is highly tied to youthfulness. Try setting a buzzer for every hour though your work day. When it goes off see if you are smiling. If you are not, put your smile on.
Laughing will make you feel much younger. This is similar to smiling but you may need some comedy youtube videos or a comedy channel to get you going. Try to laugh at least once per day.
What was a treat when you were young? Staying up late, of corse. Even if you have "no time" in your schedule, stay up late once every few weeks. Yes you may lose some sleep, which of corse you do not want to do too often, but the peace you will have with nothing else going on around you will have you felling like a teenager again.
Watch shows that you used to. For me the childhood shows that bring me back are Power Rangers, Captain Planet and Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. We all have our own, find yours. One of the worst habits that we get into as we get older is relying on plans and schedules for everything that we do. When we were young we could play, sleep, watch television or go on an adventure without having planed it. We would just think of it and do it. Sometime this week try doing something that just came to your mind.
Finally, play games. For this is mean games that you used to play when you were younger. I am a fan of Mouse Trap, Clue , Twister, Battleship and Monopoly. Most of us rarely play games of any sort that are not on a phone or tablet of some sort. Try sitting down with a couple of others in the pursuit of feeling younger and play a game with them.
Even if you take just a couple of these tips and incorporate them into your life you will begin to feel younger already. Give it a try and, most of all, have fun.
