Find the Best Dentist

By Edited Oct 27, 2013 0 2

If you are looking to find the best dentist, your smile is obviously very important to you. Whether you want to find the best dentist in teeth whitening, find the best dentist for cosmetic procedures, or just find the best dentist for your family. There are several factors that need to be considered. I am going to help you find the best dentist.

If you are new to an area be sure to ask co-workers, friends, and family if they can recommend a good dentist. If you notice someone with a bright white smile, ask them who there dentist is. They will be flattered and you just might find the best dentist in the area. What a great two for one!

Be sure to thoroughly research the dentists that you have been referred to. It is extremely important that they are an American Dental Association (ADA) member. There are strict rules and regulations American Dental Association members must adhere to. If the dentist is not properly certified that is a big red flag, so please avoid non ADA certified dentists.

Make an appointment only after you have searched for dentists in your area that you have been referred to. Remember, ADA certified dentists are the ones you want. To find the best dentist you will need to be ready to visit a few of them in person before you make your final decision.

Take advantage of the consultation to find the best dentist:

During your visit there are several things to keep in mind. The first thing is the environment or atmosphere of the dentist office. Is it well kept, clean and organized? The next element is obviously the dentist. You'll be able to tell if you are just another number or if the dentist truly cares about each and every patient. Another often overlooked aspect is the cost of the procedure. The best dentist you can find is one that is upfront about the cost of a particular procedure. This should not be a gray area, the dentist should provide a flexible payment plan. There is nothing worse than being told you must pay upfront, before the procedure.

Using the people around you, as well as taking full advantage of the consultation, is a great way to find the best dentist. Your teeth are the first thing people notice about you, it is best to find a dentist that cares about your smile just as much as you do.

Another thing to make sure is that they accept your insurance policy. The place I go to is one of the more affordable in town, but its pretty slow to pay the bills and schedule - like REALLY slow. I asked my friend who was a dentist (I wish his company accepted my insurance) why that might be and he said different offices use different dental software for the billing and such. So the place I go to has some outdated stuff, it needs to improve :P to something like this - www.curvedental.com
