Finding The Best Skin Care Product

By Edited Apr 20, 2016 0 0

Unfortunately, there is no one answer to the question of what is the best skin care product. The best products will vary widely from person to person as every person's skin is unique to them. So, the first thing you should do before searching for skin care products is to determine what type of skin you have. Is your skin oily? Dry or sun-damaged? Sensitive? Or is it just plain normal? You may be able to figure out the answer to these questions yourself, but you may need some help, so it would be useful to find more information on the internet or consult your dermatologist.

Generally, the best skin care products are all natural. Synthetic ingredients are many times not as effective and can even be harmful to the long term health of your skin. One example of this is the use of mineral oil. Mineral oil is used in many facial lotions as an additive because it is cheap, but it also can block your pores. Additionally, your skin eventually becomes dependant on the mineral oil to moisturize your skin. To get the most out of any skin care products you should make them part of your daily routine. There are three steps you should incorporate into your routine. They are cleaning, exfoliating, and moisturizing.

Cleaning is by far the most important step in your daily skin care routine. Because of this, you need to take extra caution in picking out a the best facial skin care product for your skin type. Cleaning removes the dirt and oil from your skin that can make it shiny and cause bouts with breakouts of acne.

You do not have to spend a ton of money to get a good facial cleanser, but you do need to find one that suits you. Generally, if you have sensitive skin you should use a more creamy solution, but if your skin is oily you should make sure that your cleanser contains no oil. Another important thing to keep in mind is not to over clean your face. This can damage your complexion even worse than not cleaning enough. Cleaning your face once or twice a day should be sufficient.

Exfoliating is the step that most people skip when taking care of their skin. Unfortunately for them, this is also the step that can give you the greatest difference if you start doing it today. In fact, one of the reasons that men's skin generally looks younger than a woman's is that they exfoliate several times a week by taking off the top layer of dead skin cells when they shave.

Exfoliation is the removal of the top layer of dead skin cells from your face. With the dead skin cells gone, you complexion will almost instantly seem younger and brighter. The best exfoliation products are usually microdermabrasion kits and they should be used once a week for the best effect.

Two other effective ways of exfoliating are chemical peels and retinoids. Chemical peels should be used once a month and can literally take years off your face if you have never used one before. Retinoids are also a popular treatment because they help your body stimulate collagen production in addition to removing dead skin cells from your face.

Moisturizers and Sunscreen

The final step in skin care is to moisturize. The best moisturizing products will be natural and not contain any mineral oils or other synthetic compounds. With the exception of people who have acne, everyone should moisturize.. For added protection, you should use a moisturizer with built in UV protection every morning. This will minimize your skin's damage at the hands of the sun. Damage from UV rays is the number on cause of premature wrinkles in both men and women.

There is no one skin care product will work miracles on everyone. However, there is a best skin care product for you and your skin type. To find it, determine your skin type and use some trial and error to find products that do what they are advertised to do. These products do not need to be expensive, just a good fit for your skin. To get the most out of these products, they should be use as part of a three part daily skin care regimen.
