Finding Ways for Your Kids to Have Cool Hair Without Breaking Your Bank
What is cool hair to kids seems to change every five minutes, and keeping up can be tough for a parent to do now a days. Fortunately great styles for boys and girls go both out and come back into fashion, so odds are spot on that if you bear with it long enough hair styles will begin to recycle back into their lives. Keep an eye on what means what though, having your younger kids on a leash in this department might seem silly, but boys especially can get sucked into gang symbols so know what a certain hairstyle means in your area, and asking a school principle can be a really good way to go if your child is asking for something that sounds off.
Hair Styles For Girls
Cool hair according to girls is usually something at least fairly normal and easy to swallow, they either want it super long or medium length and at least until they hit high school they are more apt to imitate Barbie than Marilyn Manson. Try to get them into a look that is nice, but not too long, as most younger kids aren't great about brushing their hair as often as is required to keep that long hair in great shape and not matting up. Plus it is just no fun at all combing the tangles out of their hair for them, they tend to cry and it becomes a nightly fight that you likely don't need to deal with on a daily basis.
Hair Styles For Boys
In most cases, so long as it isn't a gang symbol and my boys don't look like they are homeless, I really could care less about what they do in their efforts to have "cool hair". The faux hawk is a popular one, funny looking hair without the full commitment to looking like a loser. And the bowl cut, for whatever reason, likes to weave in and out of fashion. Give up trying to talk reason to young boys about their hair, as long as they clean it and they won't get beat up over it that is about all you can ask for as far as boys and their hair are concerned. Watch them do silly things to their head and smile mom, because you are likely to see the day that it is gone and they wished they had it back to play with again. The one barrior to many of these hair styles is the significant reliance needed on many hair care products.
