Finding Your Passion In Life

By 0 0

Everyone wants to live their dreams

Passion is an extremely strong and intense emotion of desiring something. Finding your passion in life will enable you to wake up earlier in the morning, and it will be the reason to keep you up late at night.  If you could do just one thing to change your life in an instant, it would be to find your passion, and start doing it for a living.

However, not everyone is able to find his or her passion instantly.

Brainstorming session.

You can start to find your passion by thinking about what is it that you love to do. Take a step back from your life and ask yourself the following questions:

  1. What do I love to do?
  2. If money were no issue, what would I do in my life?
  3. What would I do, even if I do not get paid to do it?
  4. What are my goals in life?

Write out all your answers, and do not hold yourself back when answering. Write out everything you feel, even if it sounds absurd or unrealistic at the moment. Remember: There are no bad ideas.

Taking action.

Start taking action in your life to work towards your passion. Action could be in the form of writing, researching, taking up a new class, meeting new people, or engaging in the activity.

You do not need to spend a lot of money on “taking action”. Research, books, videos all can be found free online. Beginner introductory classes are usually free or inexpensive at best. The only thing you will need is your time and commitment level to do it.

But wait! Do NOT quit your job so fast.

Even if you do find your passion in life, do not be hasty to hand in your resignation letter the next day. You should start by researching the possibility of job careers of your passion related field, or you could start by doing it as a side job for a few months, just to gain experience and build up some income.

At this stage, research as much as possible about your passion. Read more books, posting on forums, talk to people who are already doing it as their career, are all ways of researching.

Field-test your passion.

Try it as a side job first, at least for a few months. What you may think of as your “passion” may actually just be a short term thing, therefore if after a few months you’re CERTAIN that you are still passionate about it, then it can be safe to say that you’ve found your true calling.

Never give up.

If you fail once, try again. Even if you fail multiple times, keep trying. Persistence is a trait where one possesses the ability to get up and keep trying; no matter how many times one has failed.

If you find that what you’re doing isn’t your passion, restart the whole process by finding another passion. There WILL be more than one passion in your life.

Staring believing in yourself that you will find it sooner or later. It’s not going to be easy, but rest assured that it would be worth the amount of effort that you put in.

With so much hype and talk about encouraging people to “Live their dreams and follow your passion” nowadays, the most common road block in their lives is to actually FIND OUT what that passion is in the first place. Take extreme caution not to just read the article and NOT taking any form of action whatsoever. Start today, because you too, may be living your dreams tomorrow!
