Fitting Big Breasts in Bras
Fitting big breasts in bras is something that women of larger size have done and tried for years. It has gotten easier with more plus size options but fitting and finding bras can still be frustrating, irritating and sometimes painful. Here are some helpful tips for getting the most out of bras for big breasts.

Get the Right Fit
An estimated 80% of women wear the wrong size bra. It’s important to find the right bra size for health purposes and aesthetic purposes. Ill-fitting bras are not only unflattering, but they are annoying because you constantly are having to adjust yourself or the bra. A too-tight bra can add more rolls to your body than you want exposed. Tight bras might leave you with bruises, breathing problems, back aches, bad lymph nodes and poor circulation. A too-loose bra doesn’t give you any of the much-needed support which won’t help with any saggy boob problems.
Women who are trying to fit big breasts in bras should get help from a professional to find the right bra size. If you can’t get to one or are not comfortable having someone else help fit you, below are some key points to follow to get the perfect bra size that is right for your body and breasts.
Band size
Be sure to measure around the rib cage right underneath your breasts. Make sure the tape measure is flat against your skin and run straight around. Be sure the tape measure is not higher in the back than in the front. You want the measurement correct so make sure it is in an even line all the way around. Be sure to pick up your breasts and run the tape measure right underneath. If you’re trying on a bra, raise your hands to make sure the bra doesn’t ride up. If it does, this is because the band is too big. Either try latching it tighter or go down one size.
Cup size
Try sitting down when trying on a bra to make sure the cups don’t spill out your breasts. If your breasts sag it means the cup size is too big or that the bra straps need adjusting (but not too much that they dig into your shoulders). You want your breasts to stay in the cups feeling supported. The cups may also be too big if you notice creases and empty areas. You also don’t want the cups so small that your breasts squeeze out in all directions. Though this may create a nice cleavage effect, this isn’t good for you or your breasts. There are bras that create cleavage without squeezing them to death. Make sure your nipples are not exposed. The cup should cover a large part your breast.
Tips to keep in mind
- It’s best if someone can measure you instead of you measuring yourself. In some instances you can keep your clothing on and still get proper measurement if you feel more comfortable that way.
- Not all bras are equal. If you are a 36C in one brand, you might be a 38D in another. Try on the bras you are going to buy every time so that you know they will properly fit.
- Be sure your bras are comfortable and flattering. Make sure your bras are not painful that they cause bruise marks or the wires poke you.

Shop for the Right Bras
Many times women leave bra and underwear shopping last on their list. They don’t schedule enough time to shop the aisles and make time for trying on the undergarments. Also, women tend to keep their bras longer than they should. When the bra is no longer providing the proper fit, women need to restock their bras. Women who have large breasts can look and feel great if they know where to shop for the right bras. Many stores are now accommodating of larger breasts and there are many styles and colors to choose from to help you out.
Fitting big breasts in bras is possible with the right measurements and giving yourself ample time to shop.
