By Edited Apr 29, 2016 0 0

Are you an avid popcorn lover, but tired of the same old butter and salt? Or maybe your just looking for an easy, healthier alternative to flavored potato chips. There are so many different and unusual ways to prepare popcorn; sweet, savory, or spicy. It's up to you! These popcorn recipes are not only quick and easy, but delicious as well. All of these may be prepared simply using microwave popcorn, or made from scratch.

Italian Popcorn

While your popcorn is still warm add...

1 tsp Italian seasoning

1/2 tsp garlic powder

sprinkle of grated parmesan cheese

Shake until coated. Be sure to test test frequently as the garlic can get a bit strong.

Mexican Spicy Popcorn

1 tsp paprika

1/2 tsp ground cumin

1/4 to 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (depending on how spicy you want it)

Toss the popcorn until evenly coated. You may wish to add butter and salt to taste.

Cajun Popcorn

1/2 tsp onion powder

1 tsp paprika

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

1 tsp lemon pepper

Combine spices. Sprinkle over popcorn and toss to mix.

S'mores Popcorn

Golden Graham's cereal or graham crackers (broken into bite sized chunks)

Chocolate chips

Melt the chocolate (carefully) in the microwave. Drizzle over the popcorn. Add marshmallows and graham crackers. Toss until coated. Wait until chocolate hardens and enjoy! (You may eat it immediately, but be prepared to get a bit messy....)

Popcorn trail Mix

Dried fruit mix

Nut mix of your choice

Chocolate chips/M&M's

Combine the above ingredients with your popcorn.

Cookies & Cream Popcorn

10 Oreo cookies (crushed)

3 T cocoa

1/4 tsp sea salt

Sugar or stevia

Mix together the crushed cookies, cocoa and salt. Toss with warm popcorn. Add sugar or stevia to taste. You may also wish to add some larger cookie pieces in the corn as well.

Reese's Popcorn

I swear this just like a Reese's Cup in popcorn form. Ah-mazing.

1 cup chocolate chips

1/2 cup creamy peanut butter

1/4 cup butter

1 tsp vanilla extract

Melt the chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter until smooth. Stir in the vanilla extract. Drizzle over popcorn. Toss and enjoy!
