Fleas are one problem that almost all dog owners encounter at one time or another two of the most popular solutions are flea shampoo for dogs and flea fogger. Although prevention is often easier than the cure, there are times when despite one's best efforts these annoying and potentially dangerous parasites invade your beloved pet and even your home. In order to prevent infestation, regular bathing, brushing and cleaning of your pet's favorite areas and bedding is essential. There are also several medications that you can apply to your pet to preempt the problem of fleas, from Frontline, which is applied monthly to flea collars that last for varying lengths of time depending on the brand. Unfortunately, flea collars only work on adult fleas, not the fleas larvae. However, if you find that despite your best efforts at prevention have failed, there is help available. For the dog, there are many brands of flea shampoo available, from bargain brands to high-end canine beauty lines. Hartz and Seargent's are two popular brands that have been around for many years. With todays trend towards more natural, less toxic products there is also organic flea shampoo for dogs available. One such example is Synergylabs Richard's organics natural flea and tick shampoo. There are also remedies that are completely natural, such as tea tree oil that are recommended by some experts who eschew the use of chemicals on their pets and in their homes. Once infestation in the home has happened, there are a variety of products available to free yourself, pets and home from fleas and the potential health risks they carry. When a home has been infected, the most effective do it yourself method is a flea fogger. As with shampoos, there are many brands available. These foggers must be treated with caution, however as they are poison and can adversely affected pets and humans as well as fleas. Other popular brands of flea foggers are Raid, Hartz and Siphitrol. A combination of these methods should keep your home and pets flea free. However, should they fail, there are professional companies that can perform the services needed to free your home. The downside, of going the professional route is cost. There is a huge difference in price between buying a few cans of flea fogger and paying for a professional exterminator. The bottom line is that when it comes to flea fogger and flea shampoo for dogs, there are many options. Whether you are looking for a bargain or can afford to splurge, whether you have no problem using harsh chemicals or would prefer a more natural approach, the solution is out there.
