Negative effect on Employers
Employers do not want to see their employees ever come to harm. Yet employers know accidents happen sometimes. The bad thing regarding worker's compensation is the costs are based on the prior accidents and companies within the same industry that are uses as comparison for the ratings of the premiums called Experience Modification Ratings.
When a company experiences numerous accidents or job related employee injuries, the company will have increased Worker's Comp Insurance premiums the following year after the incidents. In one aspect, the company will pay for the incident three times. Once by the costs of the treatment and lost wages to the employee while they are recuperating. Once by finding a replacement for the injured employee and paying the temporary replacement wages. Finally, by the higher worker's comp premiums the following year.
Solution to problem
Workplace safety and employee safety education are the two major factors required to reduce the work related injuries. When a business uses both techniques, they will have reduced Florida Worker's Compensation insurance premiums.
Begin this process by evaluating the safety of the workplace environment.
