There are many foods that detox the body. Toxins have a tendency to build up in people's bodies, especially those who have a bad diet. If you are ready to change your eating habits or just want to give yourself an added heath boost, choose from the following foods to help detox the body.

Cilantro - Cilantro is great tasting and an excellent way to detox the body. Cilantro helps people eliminate lead, mercury and aluminum.

Oranges - Oranges help the liver remove toxins from the body. Oranges and other fruit like limes and lemons contain limonene, which is an oil that aids the liver in eliminating cancer causing compounds.

Tea - Drink green or black tea to help your body eliminate mercury. Make tea a part of meals that include fish since fish usually has traces of mercury.

Garlic - Garlic is especially efficient at eliminating toxins in the blood.

Beans - Give your system a cleansing of toxins by eating beans. Beans contain fiber, which help clean out the digestive track and colon.

Yogurt - Make sure to eat plenty of yogurt to detox the body. Buy yogurt from health food stores that contain live strains of the good bacteria lactobacillus acidophilus and lactobacillus bifidus. These ingredients boost the colon's ability to rid itself of toxins.

Vegetables - Most vegetables help detox the body; however, artichokes provide excellent detox agents to help your liver fight off toxins.

Psyllium - The active ingredient in Metamucil is psyllium. Psyllium latches on to harmful substances in your digestive track and sweeps them out of your body.

Avoid fast foods and processed junk foods that increase toxins in the body. Eating foods that detox the body will help you have more energy and help your skin glow.

These are excellent foods for detoxing. I am starting to like the taste of raw garlic...it is just too good for you to not eat it..and like it too! :)
