Comparison Review: 3860 & 3880
Here, we will be comparing two popular vacuum sealing food saver appliances, the V3860 Vs V3880, highlighting both their differences as well as their similarities amongst specifications & features. Hence, this brief & objective contrasting account will be able to give you a clear view of what both models have to offer you, then from which you can then easily decide whether you should get the foodsaver V3860 or V3880.
Performance of FoodSavers
FoodSaver claim that they are able to keep food fresh for five times longer than if you were to store food as you normally do -- and in turn potentially save you just under $3000 a year (provided that you were to conistently buy in bulk & take advantage of the discounts on offer and of course preventing waste through the vac sealing systems). Moreover, FoodSaver have also drawn up an informative & rather interesting comparison food storage table that demonstrates & compares 'ordinary' food storage time to that of how long it lasts with the FoodSaver system e.g. beef in the freezer can hold for 6 months -- which is regarded as ordinary storage -- but up to 3 years with the foodsaver system (and incredibly, that is not a typo). Other examples include cheese which can usually last for around a week or two in the fridge but with the FoodSaver it can be kept for a rather astonishing 8 months.

Design & Operation
Both models take on a 'space saving' vertical design (check specific dimensions of each model below) and operate automatically i.e they are hands-free, all you have to do is insert the bag & the machine carries out the rest. They operate on two speeds (gentle & normal) as well as offering additional settings (e.g. moist/dry foods) to perform a more optimal seal -- and also come with LED progress light indicators to let you know how they are getting on. Surprisngly, there is also a rather useful marinate mode on offer which injects the food with flavor -- which only takes a few minutes.

A range of additional aspects are included also to ensure the FoodSaver operate at the highest standard such as the 'auto liquid detection' to ensure no spilling, 'crushfree' instant seal -- meaning no delicate foods get damaged whilst being sealed up. The V3860 & V3880 also feature an 'extra wide' sealing strip with pulse function to make sure your favorite foods are properly & firmly secured (and not being as limited as lesser models by size of the food). They also come with a canister mode, drip tray (suitable for dishwasher cleaning), roll storage holder & bag cutter as well as a retractable hose (to help with sealing canisters).
