These Celebrities we loved and they starred in some of the most popular and successful TV shows back in the 70’s and 80’s that we enjoyed watching and were aired during prime time. Here’s a brief update of where they are now.
Threes Company- Joyce Dewitt
DeWitt is widely known for her role as the bubbly brunette Janet Wood on the very successful sitcom Three's Company during 1977 to 1984. After the show ended in 1984, DeWitt took more than a decade off from acting. During her time off she traveled and studied world religions. Only recently has she went back into acting full time. She has continued to act and appear in many TV shows and plays. She currently is starring in the title role in the play "Miss Abigail's Guide to Dating, Mating & Marriage!" in New York. DeWitt also does a lot of charity work for Hunger and the Homeless.
Charlie’s Angels- Jacklyn Smith
Jacklyn Smith one of the original Angels. She is best known for the role of Kelly Garrett in the TV series Charlie's Angels, and was the only original female lead to remain with the show for its complete run from 1976 to 1981. After the show ended Smith entered the business world and partnered with Kmart to launch her collection of women's apparel. She was one of the first celebrities to develop her own brand instead of endorsing others. Her collaboration with Kmart paid off, more than 100 million women have purchased clothing bearing her name. Jaclyn Smith now has added a home product line of bedding and bath items to her collection and continues her career as a successful business woman. She is married with two children and lives in Bel Air, California.
Growing Pains- Kirk Cameron
Kirk Cameron the 1980's heart throb is best known as Mike Seaver on the television comedy Growing Pains, from 1985 to 1992. He recently celebrated his 41st birthday in October. He is an devoted Christian evangelist, and still works in television but now he is a co-host on the evangelical show, the way of the Master. Cameron acts from time to time. He played the lead role as Caleb Holt in the highest grossing Independent film in 2008, Fireproof. Fireproof was a box office success grossing over $33 million and was made on a budget of $500,000. Cameron and his wife, Chelsea Noble founded the Firefly Foundation which gives terminally ill children and their families a weeks vacation.
Family Ties- Justine Bateman
Justine Bateman is best known as Mallory Keaton on the sitcom Family Ties, from 1982 until 1989. She is an actress, writer, and producer. She has made several appearances in TV shows and movies since then. She currently is busy running her own production and consulting company called SECTION 5.
Bateman made her first script sale to Disney's Wizards of Waverly Place. She has produced film shorts and currently Co-Produces and Co-stars in an internet talk show, Wake Up and Get Real. Bateman continues to do a lot of work in TV, but behind the scenes. She is also a licensed pilot for single engine planes.
Wonder Woman- Lynda Carter
Lynda Carter is best known for the TV series, the adventures of Wonder Woman 1977 to 1979. Throughout the 1990's, Carter appeared in several TV movies, and then she decided she wanted to focus solely on developing her music career. By 2009, she had released her second album, "At Last" which hit #10 on Billboard's Jazz Albums Chart. In June 2011, Carter released her third album, "Crazy Little Things" which she describes as a mix of country, and pop tunes. She tours the the States promoting the album. She is married with two children and lives in Maryland.
Bionic Man- Lee Majors
Lee Majors best known for his starring role as Colonel Steve Austin in The Six Million Dollar Man from 1973 to 1978 and as Colt Seavers in The Fall Guy series from 1981 to 1986. Majors dated Farrah Fawcett of Charlies Angels during the 70's and were one of the most famous couples during that time. Majors never left acting and has continued to act and appear in numerous TV shows. In 2011, he made an appearance as Don Reger of the CBS series $#*! My Dad Says. He is currently married and has three children.
Dallas- Charlene Tilton
She is best known for playing the sexy Lucy Ewing in the television series Dallas from 1978 to 1985. Tilton is an Actress and singer. Tilton has been featured on over 600 magazine covers worldwide, and was one of the few actresses that received the most fan mail at CBS. In 1984 she released a dance-pop single called "C'est La Vie" which was a hit in Europe and reached #1 in Germany. She never stopped acting and has appeared in many TV shows and films. She’s currently filming the new “Dallas”, the continuation of the original series on TNT airing summer of 2012 and she’s also filming “Samaritan” as Mrs. Podorgney
