Choose the right foundation
There are two main aspects for applying foundations on your skin which require selection in the form and the color. The first thing that you should check for is the form of the foundation. All types of foundation do not suit all kind of skin types. For dry skin, oil based foundation cream type is the best take as this gives additional moisture to the skin. Where else an oily skin needs a less oily foundation cake or stick form. For normal skin it is normally easy to choose. Emulsions and liquid foundations are good for all skin types. The next thing that needs to be considered is selection of color. There are many of shades that are available in market and it is not very difficult to choose a shade that matches the natural skin tone of your face.
Pour a little foundation on the hand. Apply it gently all over the face - on the nose, the cheeks, the chin and the temples and in between the brows. Blend well around the hairline, on the neck, below the eyes and behind the ears. Also apply the foundation over the eyelids. After this blot the face with a clean dry tissue, pressing it lightly over the skin. If required to retouch a particular area, reapply the foundation. Then powder it lightly with the translucent powder to let it settle properly. While applying liquid foundation, the golden rule is put small points of foundation at different parts of your face such as forehead, nose tip, chin and cheek bones and then blend it to give a more smoother and finished look. You can use powder foundation just like the normal compact powder.
