Ironic as it may sound, dentistry is not a profession one can take sitting down. A single procedure can mean hours of back bending torture for a dentist and having to administer quite possibly the worst kind of pain their patients have ever experienced in their lives, isn't exactly the kind of job every man would want. It's said that most people dread going to their dentists because of the pain that usually comes with going to the clinics but it's a road that some people have taken, and a career some have come to love.

And it's the love for the profession that often times moves dentists to do more than what is expected of them. Calming a patient down isn't exactly part of their job description but it's something they dutifully master after their daily encounters. It's tiring enough to go to work every day but a dentists' life is a little more complex than that of a corporate person.

Dental Implantation

One procedure that often puts the dentist into this duo-role is Dental Implantation. It can be quite an ordeal to be having a dental implantation done. One way to help with this procedure is to get some sedative dentistry so you dont feel the pain. A dental implantation involves an artificial tooth replacement and is used to support restorations to a tooth or a group of teeth. They can be great for trying to fix those crooked teeth so you dont end up like those celebrities with crooked teeth as seen in the news. Dental implantation has several types, but the major classifications are: Osseointegrated implant and the fibrointegrated implant.

Dental implants are prosthetic alternatives to the missing teeth and help restore the teeth functioning to normalcy. It is known that the root of a tooth holds it and an accident or infection to the gum might result in tooth fall and an implant is an artificial replacement that can act as the root to hold tooth substitute. They are a permanent solution to the tooth loss problems.

Dental implants are metallic rod-like substitutes that are placed into the alveolar bone where the tooth is lost. A typical implant consists of a titanium screw with a roughened or smooth surface. The implant surgery may be performed as an outpatient under general anesthesia, and the like. It's a pretty common procedure but because it can be quite costly, most people find ways to get dental implants for free.

How to get free dental implants

- Medical-Dental Missions

- Dental Clinic Special Promotions

- University programs for dentistry students

Dental Missions

Dental missions oftentimes take place in places where access to supplies and care are scarce, or quite possibly, in places where it's unlikely for people to afford treatments and procedures like dental implants for free. Some of these people may have not have had that much exposure to doctors, let alone dentists, and are finding out for the first time their conditions. In these medical-dental missions, the patients are treated, given medication and the proper consultation that they otherwise couldn't afford. Along with the team of dentists going to these missions are dental hygienists and the like who can assist the dentists further in treating the patients. A salary for dental hygienist is good enough so that they are highly skilled.

Dental missions aren't regularly administered so whenever these missions are held, there's always a crowd to be expected and

Clinic Special Promotions

Because dentistry is a career, and a dental clinic is a business, there are certain times when a dentist, as the proprietor needs to ensure the viability of his business. In order to boost revenue and to give his patients something to be excited about, special offers and discounts are given to patients. The special offers and promotions could include discounts on procedures from white cleaning, tooth extraction, to dental and dentures implants. It even spreads out to the other general services that the clinic may offer.

University programs for dentistry students

Dentistry students are required to perform procedures on patients in the full extent of their knowledge so far. And since they are tasked to handle operations by themselves, they not only muster the courage to finally operate on a patient but they need to find a patient willing to be operated on by an amateur.

When one agrees to this, the person should be aware that the university is in no ways responsible for anything that may lead to a problem. Dentistry students of course are of course trained to administer these procedures but it's always a different thing when you know you are in the hands of a legitimate professional.

Dentistry students often need to find for themselves patients on whom they will operate on. Sometimes, the university itself provides them this but often times, it's up to the students to provide themselves with their own guinea pigs. And although some may tell you that it will be a risk to go through with a procedure in the hands of a student who have yet to master the art of dentistry, most people will gladly undergo surgeries, given they are free.
