Free Forex Demo Account

By | 0 Comments | Rating: 0 | |

If you are interested in learning how to trade foreign currencies, you can't go wrong getting a free Forex demo account. There are many different Forex brokers where you can use their Forex trading platform to execute trades just like you would if you were using real money. This is an excellent way to learn the ropes before putting your own money at risk. Trading foreign currency with Forex has some similarities to trading in the stock market. Many of the same technical analysis strategies work with Forex much like they do with stocks. Forex beginners will appreciate being able to test out trade strategies and become familiar with a certain trading platform when they sign up for a free Forex demo account.

Why trade forex markets?

The Forex market is very enticing to those investors who prefer short term investments. The currency pairs often have a very high degree of volatility, and the market is open 24 hours a day, 5 days a week. There certainly are people that treat the Forex market as an investment, but the majority of the exchange is based on shorter term trades. To be a successful Forex trader, there is a pretty steep learning curve, that is why it is usually better to open a free Forex trading account than to start trading for your hard earned money right off the bat.

Forex Leverage - a double edged sword

If you choose to open a free Forex demo account, one of the first things you will notice is the high degree of leverage that you are using. Leverage can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on how a trade goes. If the broker is advertising 300-1 leverage that means that $500 can control a $150,000 position against another currency, like the Euro. This can be a great thing if the trade goes your way, but can be devastating if things go against you. This is why I highly recommend that you try out a practice Forex account first. Be aware that trading Forex entails a very high degree of risk, and only trade Forex with money you can afford to lose.

It is estimated that more than 70%, maybe even as high as 90% of the Forex traders are speculators. This means that nearly everyone who trades currencies does so without the intention of actually exchanging one currency for another. When you put your money into the Forex exchange market you are playing against a huge field of other traders doing the same thing. So get a free Forex demo account, practice your trade strategies, and then decide if trading the Forex markets is right for you.
