People may find it odd me saying that inspirational quotes are ‘free’ but that is only because most people believe they are free. They’re wrong. People should see these valuable sayings as a gift freely given by the universe. They can inspire us to do great things, better understand ourselves, achieve some sort of inner peace and sometimes help bring us up out of very dark places. How often do we spend money on material things with the same purpose in mind only to be disappointed by the outcome? It can be a long lonely road to discover yourself. Good luck.

I’m not sure what Henry David Thoreau meant by this. I can see the word ‘lost’ meaning two different things. One is being physically lost which can get your blood pumping and test your mental skills. The second meaning is a loss of direction, of spirituality… of ambition. Both are equally relevant and equally important.

You will recognize your own path when you come upon it, because you will suddenly have all the energy and imagination you will ever need. – Jerry Gillies

Finding something that you know you want to do for the rest of your life is a fairly rare gift, I think. I know that I’m still looking.

We all need to look into the dark side of our nature- that’s where the energy is, the passion. People are afraid of that because it holds pieces of us we’re busy denying. – Sue Grafton

Everyone has dark thoughts that we try to cram away into the far corners of our soul. I don’t think one ought to explore their dark side until they have acquired a certain amount of wisdom and judgment.
