Money drop safes (also known as depository safes) offer an immediate solution for securing cash in a professional grade safe. These postal drop styled safes aren’t dependent on opening the main body, it’s a simple case of dropping regular cash deposits through a front-loading or top hatch. An effective security measure for either internal theft or outside robbery.

An electronic depository safe can open using a standard set of keys, biometric (fingerprint) technology, or to enter 6 - 8 digit PIN on a keypad. These safes often feature an anti tampering device, such as a saw tooth baffle or anti-fish hopper - this stops a thief from back scooping contents via the deposit hatch.

Night depository or cash drop safes manufactured in solid steel often feature high-tech controls to monitor access, with a sold 1/2-inch steel door, and hinges that are drill resistant. In addition to the money drop, most models offer a larger storage area (similar in design to a standard safe) at the bottom for securing valuables such as jewelry or documents.

These safes are available in a multitude of sizes, shapes, and configurations to fit all premises. A floor print for a small depository safe can measure 14 W x 10 D inches, while a commercial grade unit can accommodate a space of 32 W x 27 D inches, with numerous sizes in between.

If storage of valuables overnight is a requirement, than a safe secured or bolted to a concrete wall or floor often results in superior protection. Other burglar or fire proof options include a fire resistant safe for securing all vital documents and valuables in a secure environment - often ranging from 1 to 2 hours, or a solid built, composite unit is able to endure a range of attacks, from a sledgehammer, carbide disc cutter, to a drill or power saw. In addition, even diversion safes can secure a small amount of cash in a residential property.

A depository safe is a popular security measure in retail premises, restaurants, or small to large business establishment to allow a quick deposit of cash via a front-loading hatch.
