Fun Cities in Florida

Florida is known to many for its sun days and mild winters. Millions of tourists each year visit Florida. Since Florida is a big state, there are several cities that tourists can choose from to visit. Depending on the activities that you are looking for you'll want to pick the city that suits your taste.

Orlando is probably the first city most people think about when they think of Florida. Orlando itself draws millions of visitors from around the world. It is the theme park capital of the world. Not only do you have the famed Disney World, but there is also Universal Studios and a whole plethora of other smaller theme parks, like Sea World. Aside from visiting the theme parks, people can take a walk on International Drive where tourists go to buy tourist stuff. There are also several fine dining establishments on that strip of road. If you go during the summer when it is hot, you can splash around at Wet n' Wild, a fun water park.

The next fun city in Florida is Miami. Miami is one the hottest cities in the South. Many people go there for the night life and shopping. The most well known place in Miami is South Beach. This where the hottest clubs, best shopping, and finest dining resides. You can also lay out on the beach and go swimming. Lincoln Street is a pedestrian only street where all the shops are. On Ocean Drive there are hotels designed with the Art Deco look. You can also catch a glimpse of Versace's house on Ocean drive.

For those who love history and the old Florida, then you have to visit St. Augustine. St. Augustine was one of the earliest built cities in North America by the Spanish. You can take a walk down the narrow St. George Street reminiscent of European towns. Along the street you will find shops and museums. One of the places that you to visit while in St. Augustine is the Castillo de San Marcos. This was an old fort used to fend off the British. You can get a good view of the ocean from the fort.
