Tips on Buying Futon Mattresses for Sale

Remember when people used to hate sleeping on sofa beds? Well those were the old days. That was back when there weren't a lot of comfort options available, even in normal beds. But it seems that the recent futon mattresses for sale all have a wide range of designs and comfort features, and most people no longer complain when they have to shack up in a sleeper sofa for the night. In some cases, they can even be more comfortable than traditional beds. Let's take a look at the different types to choose from.

Innerspring and Pocket Coil Futon Mattresses for Sale

This is the most traditional type to consider, and also quite possibly the most affordable. They are usually pretty cheap because of the basic design that doesn't really lend much room for comfort, however they are definitely not as bad as they used to be. Manufacturers have learned some secrets to make the cushions soft enough to make the innerspring coil futon mattresses not so hard and poky. There are even different kinds of pocket coil designs that are specially made to contour to your body, enhancing the comfort level. Innerspring and pocket coil models cost about $200 on average, but the price range can vary anywhere from as cheap as $100, to as much as $400.

Memory Foam Futon Mattresses for Sale

Memory foam is a pretty popular material, especially for sleeper sofas and beds. There aren't too many things more comfortable than memory foam so it makes them perfect for sleeping on. While memory foam futon mattresses aren't always as high-quality as the TempurPedic brand, they are still really nice, and very soft. Depending on what size and which brand you want, these will normally run you in the price range of about $200 to $400.

Microfiber Futon Mattresses for Sale

Microfiber is another very popular material, however in this case it's only the outer cushion that we're talking about. Microfiber models can be constructed with innerspring coils, memory foam, cotton, or have a basic layered design. People like this material because of how soft and comfortable it is, so putting it on a sleeper sofa seems like a logical choice. If you have pets, however, you might want to avoid microfiber futon mattresses because they're liable to get their fur stuck to it on a daily basis. Cats love this material and you might have a hard time keeping him off, and fur is not too easy to get out of dense microfiber. If you're considering this type, you should expect to pay anywhere from $150 for the smaller sized cheap ones to as much as $400 for the more expensive, larger models.

Basic Layer Design Futon Mattresses for Sale

This is another affordable and relatively cheap design to choose from that's rather simple in construction. They are normally soft but don't really have much support to them when compared to innerspring coil or memory foam futon mattresses for sale. The basic layer design is usually about 4 or 5 "comfort layers" made up of dense fibers, a foam core, and cotton. While they are normally priced pretty cheap at about $75 to $150, they're definitely far from the most comfortable. However, the material being used is always getting upgraded as researchers discover new ways of enhancing comfort, so you may get lucky and come across some basic layer design cheap futon mattresses for sale that are actually quite soft and comfortable.
