Comparison Review: G155 and Sentry

As you can probably tell, the G155 and Sentry GAEMS PGE (personal gaming environment) models are incredibly similar, however there are some subtle differences between the two which this following fairly brief comparison account -- G155 Vs Sentry -- hopes to make clear through a feature-by-feature & specifications contrasting analysis. From which, you will then get a clear view and understanding as to which GAEMS PGE is right for you (for a quick summary of the differences - just head to the concluding section).

Video Performance

G155/Sentry: 15.5 inch Display w. 720p LED | Competitive Viewing ‘Right Angle’

The G155 & Sentry offer the same sharp video display system -- with a 15.5” LED screen based on a resolution panel of 720p (HD), allowing you to immerse yourself into gaming whenever & wherever you want (simply plug it in, pop it up & get gaming!). The screen pops open on to a 90 degree viewing platform so you will also get the full gaming experience no matter the situation.

Audio Aspects

Integrated Stereo Speak w. Dual Output Jacks & Fits Carry-On

The slight difference comes in the fact that the Sentry offers a ‘chambered’ stereo, that basically offers a crisper sound than the G155 (as well as being protected) -- but both offer gaming either aloud (for a group) or in silent (through the 3.5mm headphone jacks).

Accessories & Features

Both models come with a HDMI (7 inch) cable as well as a whole range of additional accessories to be added (e.g. custom skins, battle bag, PGE remote & PGE sling). The difference being that the Sentry offers a customizable center badge whereas the G155 one is constantly attached. So the Sentry is basically slightly more customizable.

What’s in the Box?

The respective GAEMS PGE (G155 or Sentry), accessory bag, foam bases for the consoles (listed as: PS3 Slim, Xbox 360, Xbox One & PS4), 7 inch HDMI cable, a 100 to 240V power plug and a simple to read user manual guide.

Weight: 8 lbs | Dimensions: width - 20” x depth - 6.8” x height - 15”

As you can see the Sentry/G155 is lightweight yet compact -- fitting ‘just’ around your console, fully protecting it whilst in transit (whether it be just taking it down the road to your mate's house or across the world). It even has enough room for you to store a few games with it too.

Further Information

Both models offer a one year warranty program (which begins from the date of purchase) to correct any possible defects or issues that may occur with the GAEMS PGE during that period -- free of cost.

They are also TSA (transport security admin) approved -- hence you won’t run into any difficulties with taking it abroad or through any airlines or ferries/cruisers. They are lightweight, strong & durable -- essentially your console is being protected with an armoured like shell.

Console Suitability: Xbox 360, Xbox 360 S, PS3 Slim as well as the next gen consoles Xbox One & PS4, where they have specialised foam settings for each console (making them secure & protected).

Conclusion - Should You Buy a Sentry or G155?

Essentially the Sentry is an update of the G155, maintaining many of the same aspects & design (see images above for further clarification) with the differences really just being the removable logo badge & slightly improved speakers -- so really not a huge breakthrough nor a massive difference between the two, but if they are the same price I’d go with the updated Sentry. Then again, if the G155 is significantly cheaper (or vice versa, but unlikely) then I’d probably just opt for that model, given there is very little difference between the two really.

Summary of Differences Between the GAEMS G155 & Sentry
