Brace Yourselves... Winter is Coming

Game of Thrones Season 3's première date is Sunday, March 31, 2013. Like the first two seasons, Game of Thrones Season 3 will consist of 10 episodes. Unlike the first two, each episode will have and extra five minutes of political intrigue and medieval warfare.

This season follows the events in the first half of the book A Storm of Swords in the Fire and Ice series by George R. R. Martin. Season 3 picks up right where Season 2 left off. After failing to kill a prisoner, the patrol is killed and Jon Snow is captured by the Wildlings and is escorted to meet the King in the "King Beyond the Wall". The Lannisters have held King's Landing from the assault and prepare to face the Baratheon and Stark forces. Jaime Lannister is being escorted back to King's Landing in hopes to free the Stark children. Winterfell lies in ruins, burnt to the ground from the Greyjoy occupation. Arya has escaped servitude from the Lannisters. Daenerys is setting sail across the Narrow Sea with her dragons, carrying enough wealth to raise an army. And perhaps most importantly of all, the White Walker horde  marches south to lay waste to the Seven Kingdoms.
