Garden Hose Pumps Have Many Uses

By | Oct 7, 2010 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0

A garden hose pump can be a useful tool for any household that uses a water hose. Garden hose pumps can make an ordinary water hose more functional. They can also help you save time and effort by decreasing the time it takes to finish certain jobs around the house.

Uses For A Garden Pump

Their main use is to help water the garden or lawn but they can be used for a number of other jobs as well. If you have a blocked drain or flooding in your home these pumps can be used to get water out of the basement.

They can also be used to get water out of other areas in or around your home like an in ground or above ground pool, a boat or even a lake or pond that may be on your property. This lake or pond water can even be used to water things like your lawn or plants using a garden hose pump. This can help decrease your water bill, but it isgar also a good way to recycle rain water and use it where you need it most.

How They Work

These pumps are able to take the water from a spigot or faucet and provide a regular water hose with a greater amount of water pressure. This increased water pressure can then be used for things like washing a car, washing off the patio or garage floor, driveway, sidewalks or anything else where this additional pressure will make the job easier.

For the best results consider using a heavy duty garden hose with a garden pump. Old, worn or cheap hoses may not be able to withstand the pressure as well, especially if using a larger pump. To keep the hose in good condition store it neatly in a hose storage pot or something similar.

Most garden hose pumps are designed with stainless steel or case iron steel. They typically have an adapter so they can be easily connected and a mesh strainer to stop unwanted debris from clogging the pump.

They are usually powered either by electricity or by gasoline, although some are operated without the use of a motor or electricity. Garden hose pumps come in a variety of horsepower strengths and sizes but overall they are designed to be used for smaller jobs.

Using a garden hose pump and proper garden hose storage can make a number of jobs around the house a great deal easier either with the use of added water pressure, or with the ability to suction water from unwanted places.
