Anyone who is an owner of Gears of War 2 and has access to Xbox Live knows that the learning curve can be a bit unfriendly. When I first got Gears of War 2, I was getting myself scraped across the floor in pretty much every match I played. That is not because I am bad at the game, per say, but because I simply am more of a strategic player than a run and gun player in the games that I play. One tip that I urge you to adhere to is to be patient. I can not count how many times a trigger happy novice on my team rushes into a group of enemies thinking that he is actually going to get a kill. The only way that would happen is if the other team lacks team work, aim, or if you have a chain saw. I do not know about the matches that you get in, but I personally always join matches that tend to have at least some team work on the opposing team. If you are patient, you can have a more opportunist sort of approach to the game, with which you can wait for the right time to strike, and then do it. I have used my patient tip, and I have been able to take out a whole team by myself in doing so. Another tip is to make use of active reloads, do not be afraid of them. People tend to shout that you are a noob if you use active reloads, but some of the best players I know make use of this feature. It was obviously put in the game for a reason. The goal of the game is to have fun and achieve victory, and if you need to use an active reload to gain victory, who cares? Make sure you are also adept to taking cover from long distances, or wall bouncing. This can help you get out of rough situations when you are playing against a team.

All in all, all you have to do is make use of some common sense to succeed at Gears of War 2. I may not be the best shot gun user in the game, but I sure know how to defend myself and set traps for people that can get me as many kills as one. If you are able to think strategically and with logic, then you will surely be able to dominate matches in Gears of War 2.
