Hindus worship the Navagrahas or 9 Planets as Gods. It is
believed that celestial bodies in the cosmos have an influence on human lives
and is responsible for the good times or bad times we face in life These 9
planets of great significance are the Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus,
Saturn, Rahu and Ketu. In reality, Out of these nine Sun, Moon, Rahu and Ketu
are not planets. According to Hindu Astrology an ill placement of any of these
planets in ones horoscope can cause diseases or other negative effects in that
person's life. The Navagrahas needs to be propitiated in order to have a good
life. Fortunately this situation can be
remedied by wearing the gemstone of the ill placed planet. The gemstones of the nine planetary gods in Hindu religion are Ruby for Sun,
Gemstones have immense healing powers and are used widely in healing and curing of diseases. Gemstones also have an Ornamental value and are much preferred by people than all other ways of pleasing planets as it is easy to use. One can also wear a single Navagraha Ornament which has the gemstones of all the nine planets. This can be worn in the form of ring, bracelet or pendant depending on the liking of the individual choice. This type of jewelry can be worn by all and does not have any negative effects. Other ways for pleasing the planets are chanting the navagraha mantras, worshipping the navagraha yantras, doing the navagraha remedies, conducting pooja rituals and fasts etc to remove or reduce the negative effects of planets.
