Free internet using a homemade long range wifi antenna is certainly very possible and for those who make one it is usually greatly appreciated. Everyone is looking for the best deal they can find when it comes to internet service. A home made wifi antenna is one way that a person can indeed utilize free internet.
This is article is advice that can help you especially when in a bind or for temporary use (as we were at one time needing to keep our work from home business going) but is not meant to utilize to take advantage of free wifi networks that you may discover. Our family was very appreciative of our discovery of free internet using our own homemade long range wifi antenna. Our situation was that we had moved from our previous home to our new home and were in dire need for a broadband connection. We had none for the interim so we started experimenting with ideas that I researched. Our use of the free internet connection was a temporary use and utilized only a free wifi connection that was available for use in our neighborhood area. It did work great though during the time we had to use it.

Here is how we set up our free broadband connection:
Firstly you will need specific items. These are mainly household items that you can find throughout your home and will work fine. The one item you will need to purchase (if you don't have one already) is the usb wifi dongle adapter. You will need this because of its ability to be placed somewhat remotely from your base desktop/laptop. You can maneuver the usb wifi antenna around in order to get the best antenna reception for picking up the best free internet signal.
Secondly you will need a large bowl or pan type apparatus which will be used to "catch" or pick up the free internet wireless signal that is being sent your way. We personally used a large (aproximately 27 inches across) steel bread mixing bowl but had also used a smaller aluminium strainer bowl periodically as well.
Other items we used included duct tape, clear packing tape, and a very thin bed-sheet-like material.
Our laptop which was picking up a faint remote free wifi signal was then attached to the usb wireless dongle via an extension usb cable. The usb dongle was placed within the center of the large steel bread mixing bowl attached by the clear packing tape. We tried different positioning of the dongle in the center of the bowl but found that the best reception for the free wireless signal using our homemade long range wifi antenna was attained when we allowed the usb dongle to be hanging aproximately a few inches from the bottom of the large bowl. This took a little skill of using the clear packing tape attaching it just right in order to keep the dongle firmly in place. When this entire arrangement was together sturdy we attached our new long range wifi antenna to our side bedroom window to get free internet.

The laptop which picked up the free wifi signal before our homemade wifi antenna was not able to access the net at all but now with our new homemade broadband antenna setup in the window we were able to surf at speeds bursting up to 2.8mb/s . That is pretty phenomenal!
We used it until we had our own paid-for internet service established from a local isp (internet service provider). This really helped us in a pinch because we earn extra income at home online business and could not afford to have any broadband downtime.
When you too are in the need for a temporary fix to get free internet using a long range wifi antenna I hope you find this information helpful to assist you as well.
