Anytime you are traveling for an extended period of time and staying in hotel rooms, it is difficult to maintain your fitness routine. Whether business or pleasure, there are a number of good exercises that you can do to stay in shape while you are away in your hotel room.
Dips are a great arm exercise. You can perform these off of
your bed or any chair. Just sit down with your hands on either
side of you. Then step away from your seat so that you are suspended in the air and bend your elbows to 90 degrees. Breathe out as you push yourself back up to the beginning and think of locking your elbows and engaging the
arms.
Push-ups are one of my favorites which can easily be performed from any hotel room floor. To start just lie down on your stomach, get up on your toes, hands
shoulder-width apart and simply push yourself away from the floor
repeatedly. If that is too challenging then you can perform the same
movement from your knees instead of your toes.
Squats are another good exercise that will target all of the major
leg muscles. Just stand with your feet slightly wider than
shoulder-width and place your hands on your hips. From there bend your
knees and stick your butt out until you reach 90 degrees at the knee
and then push yourself back up to the beginning repeatedly.
Sit-ups are very effective at working the muscles of the stomach and
are easily done from any hotel room floor. Just lie down on your back,
knees bent and come all the way up and touch your feet. If you need
assistance, lock your toes under the bed or dresser for support.
