The Dell Venue Pro is one of the newest smartphones to hit the market from computer giant Dell. It runs Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 mobile operating system and currently operates on T-Mobile’s network. The mobile device currently retails for only $99.99 for the 8 GB model and $149.99 for the 16 GB model (both on a two year contract) and can be bought from Dell and retail stores from Microsoft. The smartphone has a unique form factor as it combines a touch screen interface with a slide out 4-row QWERTY keyboard. Staying connected while on the go is made easy and the Dell Venue Pro lets you stay on top of your work, entertainment and social life.

The Dell Venue Pro comes with a number of key features that makes it a hot new gadget. It has a large crisp AMOLED 4.1 inch display with a 480x800 screen resolution and a sleek outer design combining chrome plating on the side and rubber edges at the top and bottom. The responsiveness of the touch screen is quite good and the screen is visible in bright sunlight. The bottom of the touch screen display also has the standard home, search and back buttons, each nicely spaced apart to allow for easy key presses.

The keyboard slides out from underneath the display. The buttons on the keyboard layout are designed to be quite small, so it might be somewhat difficult to use if you have large fingers. Despite this fact, the keyboard is still relatively easy to use and allows for typing with one hand. The headset jack and power button is located at the top of the mobile device while the microUSB port and two speakers are found at the bottom. The Dell Venue Pro also comes with a 5 megapixel camera that can record 720p video. The battery and SIM card can be replaced by sliding out the rear cover.

The dimensions of the unit measure 4.76 inches by 2.54 inches and just under 0.6 inches in thickness, which is just a bit bulkier compared to other mobile devices on the market. The device weighs in at 6.7 ounces, a bit heavier than other devices. In case you’re wondering, the box comes with the following Dell Venue Pro accessories:

• Dell Venue Pro smartphone
• microUSB cable
• wall charger and 1400 mAh battery
• 3.5 mm stereo headset
• Getting Started user guide including warranty and product safety information

The microUSB interface at the bottom of the device allows you to synchronize to a computer and charge the phone battery. The battery allows you to talk on your phone for about seven hours, which should be enough to last the day without recharging; extra batteries can be carried to give you a boost in longevity. Car chargers made by other third parties will help ensure that you’ll stay connected during extended travel.

A good Dell Venue Pro case is the glove, which fits snugly over the smartphone and protects it from dust and scratches. They’re typically made from leather or plastic materials and are designed to allow you to plug in cables and use the phone without having to take off the glove case. These cases come in a variety of colors and designs to help customize your style. There’s also the skin case which is essentially a thin sheet of plastic that you wrap around and stick onto the phone, which helps protect it from scratches; it’s a good lightweight solution that doesn’t add additional weight to the device.

Screen Protector
