Get a US Passport

A passport is required when traveling out of the country. The type of passports you need depends on the purpose of your travel. An ordinary passport is for traveling on vacation. An Official passport is for government employees traveling for work. A Diplomatic passport is a diplomats traveling on official business. An Emergency passport is a temporary passport issued when yours lost, misplaced or stolen. A Collective passport is issued to a traveling to the same destination such as a school trip, church youth group or missionaries. A Family passport is for a parents and their children when traveling together. When selecting a passport beware that not a documents may be called a passports when it isn't one at all. These documents called passport when they are actually documents serve a specific purpose depending the type of document that it is. An Alien's passport is document for residents who are not US Citizens. An Internal passport is also a document for the purpose of monitoring migration of people into the USA. Once you have completed the steps below you will be passport ready for travel.

Step 2

Step 3

Be prepared for the fees involved with obtaining a passport by going http://travel.state.gov/passport/get/fees/fees_837.html to review the fee schedule.


Step 4

Go to http://www.onthegosoft.com/passport_photo_specifications.htm to review the passport photograph requirements.


Step 5

Review your passport status by going to http://www.usps.com/passport/ .
