Save Hundreds Of Dollars A Year By Switching To MagicJack

By Edited Oct 15, 2016 1 0

Are you sick of paying high phone bills and thinking about ditching your landline? Don't do it, there are many reasons keep your landline some of which include keeping that old number that everybody knows and having a way for the babysitter to call if there's an emergency.

Keep your landline number but get rid of that expensive phone service and replace it with MagicJack. MagicJack is a voice over IP telephone service provider whose service fees are extremely cheap. You can get a full year of service for only $35 or five years of service for $120 which includes local and long distance calling to the U.S. and Canada. All you need to take advantage of their service is a high speed internet connection and the MagicJack hardware.

There are some limitations using the service though.  Since the service requires an ethernet connection, your phone must be located near your modem.  There are two simple solutions to overcome this limitation. The first solution would be to buy a phone with multiple handsets, or you could just use a network powerline adapter. A network powerline adapter transmits the signal through your home’s electrical wires . If you use a network power adapter,  you can place your phone wherever there is a power outlet.

In addition to cheap calling services MagicJack also comes with additional features. These features include free caller id, free voicemail, free call forwarding and free call waiting. An additional nice feature is, MagicJack will send you an email whenever you received a new voicemail. The email contains the time the phone call came in, the phone number the call came from and a .WAV audio file of the actual voicemail. Currently MagicJack only allows for the email to get sent to one email address. But this is easy to overcome through the use of Gmail. You can create a gmail account specifically for receiving these emails. Then you can set up a rule to forward these emails to whoever you want to receive the emails.

I personally have been using MagicJack for two years and I have no plans on switching to any other service. I have never had any problems or voice quality issues while using this service, no matter how many other devices were using my home internet connection at the same time.

It’s never been cheaper to have home telephone service than it is right now. Keep the landline and switch to MagicJack, you won’t regret it.
