Get out of debt by writing articles on the internet

By Edited Mar 29, 2016 2 9

Many people are currently suffering in the current economic downturn and trying to make the most of every penny. Whether is a period of unemployment or a decrease in income, many people are looking for ways to make a bit of extra money and get their levels of debt down.

One way some people have been trying to make a little extra money, is on the internet, specifically writing articles on sites like Infobarrel and Hubpages. You make money by automatically displaying ads, like Googe Adsense on your articles and getting paid every time someone clicks on the ad.

The nice thing about writing articles on the internet is that there are no start up costs. Well, there is the cost of the internet and a computer, but there are ways around this, like using free wifi or the computers at a public library.

If you start a part-time job to earn extra money, you take on another commitment, which may interfere with your regular job and you will see less of your friends and family. Writing for the internet you can do anywhere and anytime. It is easy to trade the time watching television with working online.

Another advantage of writing articles on the internet is that once you spend the time writing the article, you can potentially earn an income from it forever. You earn money while you sleep, otherwise known as passive income.

While sitting at a computer punching out a few articles, sounds easy it does take some work. The success you have (traffic and income) will depend on whether the article helps to answer a question or solve a particular problem, whether a lot of people need this information and whether there are companies that want to advertise on the keywords of your article.

No matter how great your article is, you still need to spend time marketing it and telling the world about your great article. This can be done on any of the popular social media websites you already belong to, like Facebook or Twitter.

One problem is even if you put in a lot of effort, you never know exactly how much money you are going to make with the articles you write. From my experience you will sometimes be surprised which articles become popular and make the most money. So while article writing might a good way to get the principle down on your credit card debt, you might not be able to rely on it to pay your interest bill.

Income from making money on the internet does tend to have a snowball effect. So in the beginning you will make very little. The important thing is to stick at it and keep working hard. If you keep working hard over a period of time, you will eventually see the results and you will be able to pay off your debt in no time at all!

I would definitely recommend InfoBarrel to someone who has been laid off from work.....have you tried eHow at all? What is your opinion of that platform?

Thanks for the comment. I looked at eHow but they only accept people from the US. I heard a few complaints about them with their payment system. Some people were moving to Infobarrel.

Thanks for the article. I am so glad I found infobarrel. I LOVE this service. I started seeing money in my adsense account the second day after writing an article. It is a slow process, I believe, but well worth it!

Got my first blog up and running. Thanks for the advice on moving forward with revenue stream. Not really expecting a raging torrent a babbling brook would be nice though!

@sord87 You need to set up a channel in your Adsense account for infobarrel. That way you can track your earnings. Good luck!

I don't suggest someone makes great money over night on any of this sites; "retireyoung" eHow is now in the UK already; I also like Triond, they introduces AdSense recently and it works great!
