The difference with credit counselors is that your loan amount doesn't get reduce, you only get a lower interest payments.

Another method for eliminating credit card debt is to use a debt management program. Debt management programs help people who are looking to find a way to manage their debt on their own terms. These programs are self-made repayment plans that people create to help them towards reducing their credit card debt. For people who have a lot of self initiative, debt management programs are a good place to start reducing your credit card debt.

Getting out of credit card debt is not impossible if you are willing to work at it. Using the previous methods, you can help reduce your credit debt. Obviously, for some people who have lost their job and have no income, bankruptcy may be the only option they have. However, you should try and avoid bankruptcy if you can.
