Getting walnuts into your diet for health benefits can really improve your overall health. Walnuts are made up of mostly polyunsaturated fats. The good fats that the body requires. Why it's important to get walnuts into your diet, because they're very rich in omega-3 found in fish oils. Omega-3 fatty acids, is a fat that we tend to not get enough of into our diet. Which leads to bad ratio of omega-6 fatty acids, compared to omega-3. For those who don't like fish, where you'll find a large amount of omega-3 fatty acids in, walnuts is the next best food source.

Walnuts, not only rich in omega-3 fatty acids, but they contain other nutrients as well. Walnuts are quite rich in fiber, vitamin B manganese, copper, tryptophan, and Vitamin E. Walnuts are rich in antioxidants which can help benefit anti-aging.

1.) Eat walnuts to lose weight. Walnuts are made of the good fats, the kind that doesn't contribute to weight gain. Walnuts can contribute to weight loss. It's high in fiber, and omega-3 has been linked to weight loss. Walnuts increase your metabolism and can contribute to not over eating. Replace walnuts in your diet, with foods you shouldn't eat. Add walnuts to your cereal, salad, or recipes you make. About 1.5 oz of walnuts daily is recommended.

2.) Walnuts can increase brain function. Walnuts is definitely a brain food, without a doubt. Omega-3 fatty acids are fats that the brain requires for survival. Most of the brain is made of fats, particularly a fat called DHA. The fat that's mostly made up in the brain is DHA. DHA is found in omega-3, so obviously it's found in walnuts.

3.) Eat walnuts to reduce bad cholesterol and prevent heart disease. Walnuts can help prevent arteries from clotting. Walnuts also help promote good heart health. Monounsaturated fats, which are found in walnuts, make up a large part of the Mediterranean diet. Mediterranean diet is used to help promote good heart health. Walnuts are said to protect arteries after eating high fat meals.

4.) Eat walnuts to protect your immune system. Walnuts can play a role in protecting illness. The ellagic acid contained in walnuts supports the immune system. The copper found in walnuts also help promote a healthy immune system. Women specifically should eat more walnuts. According to studies, walnuts could help prevent breast cancer.

5.) Eating walnuts can promote healthy skin and bone structure. Walnuts rich in antioxidants, omega-3, and vitamin E. This can contribute to healthy skin and promote strong bone structure. Walnuts can increase bone density in the body.
