Gifts for Girl Scouts-Find the Perfect One

By Edited Apr 25, 2016 0 0

There are many gifts for Girl Scouts, so it is easy to find the perfect one. Many girls fall in love with their Girl Scout adventures, and it is easy to give gifts that will reflect that feeling.

American Girl Doll Girl Scout Uniforms

American Girl dolls are very popular among girls ages five to twelve. These heroines represent their period of American history. In addition, all of these girls also have traits that align themselves with the values leaders teach those during their Girl Scout troop meetings. These American Girl characters exemplify the Girl Scout Law:

I will do my best to be
honest and fair,
friendly and helpful,
considerate and caring,
courageous and strong, and
responsible for what I say and do,
and to
respect myself and others,
respect authority,
use resources wisely,
make the world a better place,

And be a sister to every Girl Scout (maybe not to other scouts, but certainly to their friends in their stories)

You can give your special girl an American Girl doll Girl Scout uniform! They come in Daisy Scout, Brownie and Juniors styles, so you can buy the one that is the same level as the gift recipient.

Build-A-Bear Girl Scout Uniforms

Most girls probably have a Build-A-Bear animal or two.  Build-A-Bear sells Girl Scout uniforms, sashes and patches for Daisy Girl Scouts, Brownies and Juniors.  Your daughter can have a pretend meeting with all of her dolls and bears in full Girl Scout uniform!

Another Girl Scout gift idea is to give her the 100th anniversary Girl Scout bear, dressed in the uniform your daughter is this year.  These will soon be unavailable, as the anniversary year is almost over.

Girl Scout Gift Ideas-Books

Reading is a relaxing pastime for people of all ages. There are many books written expressly for Girl Scouts, while others reflect Girl Scout values.

For Daisy Girl Scouts, these picture books would make the perfect gift:

Juliette Low, Girl Scout Founder by Helen Boyd Higgins This easy to read biography is on just the right reading ability level for most Brownie Girl Scouts.

American Girl books are also appropriate gifts for girls between seen and nine.

Books for Junior Girl Scouts

Juniors are fourth and fifth graders, who are ages nine to eleven, are on the brink of young adulthood. Books for them should revolve around friendships, overcoming obstacles, and believing in yourself.

These American Girl Library books would make perfect gifts for Junior Girl Scouts.

Girl Scout Gift Idea-Arts and Crafts

It is safe to say that most Girl Scouts love to do arts and crafts. You can buy our favorite girl any number of arts and crafts kits, depending on her age level. Large pony bead and lanyard, simple sewing or needlework kits, or felt activity kits are developmentally appropriate for Daisy Girl Scouts.

Brownie Girl Scouts have better fine motor skills and can be more independent. Simple sewing projects or making scrapbooks are activities that require only a small amount of guidance. More complicated bead crafts are also a fun way for girls this age to pass the time. Origami, rubber stamping, and paint by numbers make great gifts.

Junior Girl Scouts have the skills to do more advanced kind of crafts, like tie dying. Designing and making their own jewelry, knitting and crocheting are also something girls this age would like to attempt, as girls this age love fashion.
