Rory has her own relationship trouble in Gilmore Girls Season 2. She has been dating the tall & steady Dean, who was also her first kiss. However, then bad boy Jess moves to town. Jess is Luke's nephew & he stirs up trouble in Stars Hollow as well as in Rory's relationships.
In the meantime the Gilmore Girls get themselves in crazy situations, such as taking a tour of Harvard. The competition between Rory & Paris heats up at Chilton. She is still upset about the kiss that Rory shared with Tristan after her mini break up with Dean that took place in season one.
Emily & Richard Gilmore aren't immune from the turmoil either. In Gilmore Girls Season 2 we are introduced to Lorelai's grandmother who is also named Lorelai Gilmore. Richard is having trouble at the office as he is basically being forced into retirement when he still feels he is in his prime. Emily, is always Emily, & her mother in law is one of the few people that intimidates her. Also in Gilmore Girls Season 2 Sookie's love life finally picks up with the zany fruit & vegetable guy Jackson.
One of the more heart wrenching episodes of Gilmore Girls Season 2 is called âLorelai's Graduation Dayâ. Rory is usually a responsible kid. She convinces Lorelai to go through the ceremony at her local business college. She even invites Richard & Emily. Then Rory does something very uncharacteristic of her & misses one of the most poignant moments of her mother's life. There is usually a lot of drama between the Gilmore women & various men. However, Rory & Lorelai usually remain pretty stable & happy with minimal fighting. They are best friends & this is really put to the test during this episode.
In Closing
Gilmore Girls Season 2 is full of love triangles. Will Rory choose Tristan, Dean or Jess? Will Lorelai end up with Christopher, Max, or the ever present, dependable Luke? Through it all Lorelai & Rory stick together. Gilmore Girls Season 2 is a favorite among fans of the show because it's so full of possibility while still staying true to its witty core.
