Girls Bedroom Furniture
Girls bedroom furniture often expresses a girl's personality and changes as she grows into adolescence. A bed (and mattress), a dresser, a desk, a bureau, and a nightstand are five pieces of furniture that parents should purchase. Each purchase allows a girl to live efficiently and joyfully.
The quality of each piece should be considered. If the parents believe the girl will outgrow the kids furniture within a few years, they would be smart to look for a less expensive set. Once a girl reaches elementary school, it may be wise to buy a sturdy bedroom suit that she can use through adolescence but redecorate as her taste changes. If a younger teen is pickier and her parents believe her taste will change again during high school, it may be smart for the parents to buy another inexpensive set that can be easily discarded.
A girl's room may have a theme, such as a Disney princess, a certain movie or band, flowers, teddy bears, cartoon characters, a favorite style (modern or country), or a favorite color. Therefore, a kids table and chairs set should be picked out that matches a particular theme. If a girl can give her parents a general theme she would enjoy for her room, they can easily find furniture and accessories to go along with the theme.
The cost of girls bedroom furniture depends on where it is purchased. If parents or guardians search hard enough, they can easily find good bargains on furniture at rummage sales or flea markets. A couple new coats of paint or finish can make an old piece of furniture look like new. If the decorator is lacking do-it-yourself skills or if the girl is insecure about what her friends may think, a childrens furniture purchase from a department or furniture store might be in order.
Most girls enjoy having their rooms re-furnished because it allows them to express their personalities, especially if they have some say in the transformation of their room. An older teen will not have the same taste she did during junior high; a junior high girl will not have the same taste she had during elementary school. Furthermore, a bed for a todder will not be of sufficient length for older girls.
When considering the purchase of girls bedroom furniture, common sense and consideration of the girl's taste go a long way in finding a solution that will keep the family financially and emotionally happy.
