Gluten Free Chinese Chili Recipe
I love adding things to my crock pot, especially if they are gluten free ingredients. I came up with this unique and wacky chili by accident when I was in the mood for chili and Chinese food on the same night! You can turn up the heat by adding a chopped jalapeno, but I think it is pretty spicy as is... This chili is great in wintertime, and it freezes very well. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
1 Lb Ground turkey or beef
2 TBS Olive Oil
1 Medium Onion, chopped
1 15 Oz. can Red Kidney Beans, with juice
2 14 Oz. cans diced tomatoes, with juice
2 Tsp. chopped garlic
2 tsp. chopped or ground ginger
1/4 cup Hoisin Sauce
1/4 cup dry sherry
2 TBS Soy Sauce
2 dashes Hot Sauce
2 tsp. chili powder
Method:
· Heat olive oil in a non-stick pan on Medium High. Add ground turkey and brown until cooked, about 6-8 minutes. Drain and add to a 4-6 quart crock pot.
· Add other ingredients to crock pot and stir well.
· Cook on high for 4-6 hours or on Low for 8-10 hours.
· Serve over rice if desired! Try freezing this for later. It always tastes better the second time around because the flavors really melt together.
I hope you enjoy this wacky dish I came up with. Enjoy!
