Glycolic Gel
Glycolic Gel is often touted as THE solution for acne embattled teenagers.
However, there are things you should know before espousing the use of glycolic
gel. There are numerous side effects of glycolic acid which remain unknown
today, and users of glycolic gel should take note of what the effects of
glycolic gels on their skin.
Most glycolic gels today add botanical extracts to stave off the effects of the
acid. However, glycolic gel also reacts in a certain way to different types of
plant extracts. Due to its capability to penetrate the skin, glycolic gel acid
is starting to be offered in many skin care product brands. As glycolic gels
are less harsh than glycolic peels, there seems to be a growing trend of women
choosing to go for glycolic gels over the peels.
Glycolic gels can improve the skin's appearance and texture. As it is gel
based, the glycolic will also help to reduce wrinkles, scarring,
hyperpigmentation and other skin conditions.
Some combinations of glycolic gel formulas include a combination of allantoin,
and hyaluronic acid, to soften the effect of glycolic acid. Most formulations
of glycolic gels however are well suited to oily and combination skins.
Personally, I just love using my glycolic gel.
