Golfing in Americas Finest City - San Diego Courses
For those golfers who have ventured to America's Finest City for a little vacation time, you will be pleased to find some amazing courses with great views. From Coronado Island to gorgeous La Jolla, there are many spots with beautiful views.
Coronado Municipal Golf Course: Opened in 1957, this public golf course spans the southeast portion of the island by Glorietta Bay and San Diego Bay. The greens are immaculately manicured, and there is a full-length driving range, a chipping and practice bunker, a large putting green, and five instructors to help you with your game. With all of the beautiful weather to enjoy, Coronado has some of the best San Diego boutique hotels to enjoy a golf vacation at.
Riverwalk Golf Course: This course, located along the San Diego River, was designed by Ted Robinson. It played host to many PGA Tour events in the 50's and 60's and sits in Mission Valley. 27 holes are found along beautiful sweeping greens, with water in many areas. This course is quite close to the San Diego Zoo, SeaWorld, and the beautiful San Diego coast.
Presidio Hills Golf Course: If you have not visited Old Town San Diego, you are certainly in for a treat when you visit Presidio Hills. Established in 1932, this short-course golf course specialized in junior instruction and training programs, while offering a unique and challenging course to golfers across the spectrum of ability.
Torrey Pines Golf Course: This is one of the most famous golf courses in all of San Diego. It is located in gorgeous La Jolla, and is a well known PGA Tour stop. It opened in 1957, and has been attracting visitors because of its beautiful location, indigenous trees, and gorgeous greens. It is also the host of the famous Buick Invitational each February.
Twin Oaks Golf Course: Another Ted Robinson design, this one is located in San Marcos, just east of Oceanside. It is an 18-hole course welcome to golfers of all abilities. There are many elevation changes, as well as water on many holes. It is very close to a protected wildlife habitat in the San Marcos area.
