Gravely zero turn lawn mowers are well known to professionals all over the country. However, the company is making consumer riding cutters that are becoming incredibly popular. In fact, the company is now making one of the smallest riding cutters on the market today, with a deck that measures just 34". This has helped keep the price down, so more people, beyond just the professionals, can use and become familiar with Gravely zero turn lawn mowers. Let's look at some of the models in a little more detail, so you can make an informed decision before you buy.

I must admit that I don't own one of these, but it's not because I don't want one. Gravely zero turn lawn mowers are known by many to be the top of the line in the industry. After looking for reviews, you won't find many that have anything bad to say about the brand. Here's some additional information on Gravely zero turn lawn mowers, so you can know what to expect.

ZT 34:

As you could probably guess, the ZT 34 Gravely zero turn lawn mower has a deck that measures 34". The motor included with this model is a 16.5 hp Briggs & Stratton. This is a decent motor, but not quite on the same level as a Kohler or Kawasaki, in my opinion. This model has a top speed of 6 miles per hour going forward, and 3 miles per hour moving in reverse. The deck is made with 12 GA steel. This is the least expensive of all the Gravely zero turn riding lawn mowers, but will still likely be a substantial step up for most homeowners. This rider will cut the grass in less time than a standard rider with a 42" deck, due to increased speed and maneuverability.

ZT 42:

You guessed it - the deck is 42" on this Gravely zero turn lawn mower model. This is a decent size for most homeowners and could even be used by those looking to mow around an acre or so of grass. This model has an 18.5 hp Briggs & Stratton engine. Like the 34" model, the top speed is 6 miles per hour moving forward, and the deck is made of 12 GA steel. You will cut your time cutting the grass way down with this model rather than the 34, due to about 25% more cutting area.

ZT 50:

With a 50" path, this Gravely zero turn lawn mower will help you get the job done really fast. The best feature, so far as I'm concerned, is the 22 hp Kawasaki twin cylinder engine. This is a top of the line engine in that size and one that should last you for years to come. Most of the other stats are the same with this model. The increases size would be good on very large areas, perhaps in the 1-2 acre range. This would be the nicest unit on most neighborhood blocks, so you can by this Gravely zero turn lawn mower with confidence that your buds won't make fun of you.

ZT XL 42:

This comes in at the same size as the regular ZT 42, but this Gravely comes with a 22 hp Kawasaki twin engine – well worth the price increase alone, in my opinion. Plus, the top speed is slightly faster (6.5 miles per hour), the deck steel is thicker (10 GA steel) and the drive system is better, with a transaxle. This is simply a step up in quality materials and parts, along with a better engine. This Gravely zero turn lawn mower is more likely to last longer, despite having the same warranty as the models already listed.

ZT XL 48 and ZT XL 54:

Both of these Gravely zero turn lawn mowers have the same engine – a 24 hp Kawasaki twin cylinder. Both have the same basic specs including 10 GA steel decking with doubler plate, 4.5 gallon gas tank, and a 6.5 mile per hour top speed. As you would expect, the blade tip speed is slightly faster on the 54" model. You are essentially paying more for the extra cutting size with the 54". These are Gravely zero turn lawn mowers that any consumer could be happy with.

ZT HD 48 and ZT HD 52:

These Gravely zero turn lawn mowers are quite similar in most specs. Both are equipped with a 24 hp Kawasaki twin cylinder engine and both units are very fast, clocking in at 8 miles per hour. This speed is almost unheard of in the world of consumer style riders. In addition, the deck is 10 GA steel, but is also spindle reinforced.

ZT HD 60:

This is the biggest Gravely zero turn lawn mower made for the homeowner and not the professional. You will get a great engine, a 26 hp Kawasaki. Virtually all other stats are the same as the 48 and 52 models. You will be able to cut yards up to 2 acres or even larger with this. In fact, I would suspect a few professionals would be really happy to own this model of Gravely zero turn lawn mowers. They are the highest grade thy make for the average Joe.

Other Units:

Gravely makes more than zero turn lawn mowers for the consumer, with a full lineup for the professional. In addition to the riding cutters, there are also some incredibly impressive walk behind models you can get. In addition, they sell high quality trimmers and brushers used by many professionals and homeowners alike. All are made with high standards of quality and craftsmanship.

You will find that Gravely zero turn lawn mowers also are available for professionals. This is actually where the company secured their stellar reputation. If you check out what the pros ride, you'll notice this brand being use quite often. It speaks highly of the quality and durability you can get with Gravely zero turn lawn mowers, whether you are looking for the riding or walk behind type models. Check them out and see what the buzz is all about. You'll end up loving these!
