Gym Floor Mats
If you are planning on building yourself an home gym in your house. Then one of the most important things that you are going to need to do first, is to get some gym floor mats. Not only is this going to save your floor from a bashing, but its also going to protect your expensive home gym equipment from damage whilst you are using them. If you plan on weight training with free weights such as dumbbells and barbells then a soft and durable floor surface is going to be an absolute must for you.
Gym floor mats come in a variety of different sizes and materials, one of the cheapest and quickest ways to lay a gym floor is by doing it with interlocking foam mats. These mats are usually sold in packs, all you need to do is unwrap them lay them onto the floor, then quickly click each floor tile into place just like you would do with a jigsaw puzzle. Not only is this type of gym flooring cheap to buy, what you will be amazed at how quickly you can erect your gym floor. Were talking minutes, not hours plus the foam has been specifically designed for maximum impact and durability.
If you are looking for a material which is a little more hard wearing. Then rubber gym floor mats are probably going to be the choice for you. Rubber mats are going to cost you a little bit than their interlocking foam flooring counterparts. But they will last you much longer. If you are looking at rubber as your choice of gym flooring. But are on a limited budget then why not buy rubber stable mats.
These are the mats that I have personally laid onto my home gym floor and I must say not only is it very hard wearing but it looks absolutely fantastic as well. I purchased my rubber stable mats off eBay, for a little bit more money than it would of cost me, to buy the flooring in interlocking foam mats. These rubber stable mats are intended to be used in an horses stable, but they make fantastic and very hard wearing gym floor mats that are going to withstand everything that you throw at it them. I've had mine for over 4 years now and they still look like new.
