Most people walk into a hotel ask if there are any rooms available and pay the price that is told to them, however most people are unaware that there are many ways to save yourself money. Seeing as though i work for a large hotel branch im going to let you in on some ways to save yourself money. For instance any person can get a corporate rate at any hotel all you have to do is say you are here on business and provide your company's name. If you are planning to book more than one hotel room ask if you can have a group rate for many hotels will significantly drop the rates of the rooms if you book 5 or more hotel rooms. Signing up for any hotel points card system is allways a good idea for it gets free upgrades as well as in some hotels a discount on your room rate. If you have a BCAA or AMA card you automatically get 20% off any hotel room at any hotel in Canada, as well any hotel will also offer a 10-20% discount for anyone over the age of 55years old. Hotels also offer: Government employee's discounts, 911 rates (ambulance, fireman, police etc..) However the best way to save yourself money is to look for internet specials first, for example my hotel charges 124.00 for a standard room, but i have recieved to reservations today done over the internet for 73.60 which is better than all the above rates, so when travelling allways make sure to check out the online rates, i promise you there is a deal out there with your name on it.
