HX9332 vs HX9382 - Difference Between the HX9332 and HX9382

By Edited Mar 4, 2016 0 0

Should I Buy a HX9332 or HX9382?

Are you interested in getting a top quality (premium) Philips electric toothbrush model and have decided on either the HX9332 or the HX9382, however are unsure on the differences between them and/or which one is best for you? If so, you have found the right comparison guide.

(Important Note: if you skip the 'overview' to the conclusion section below, you will find that they are actually the exact same model, hence there are no differences, one is in no way better than the other --they are just sold under different coded names: as one is meant for just retail purposes -- the HX9332 -- and the other was meant to be sold through dental practices directly -- the HX9382, so basically just opt for which is ever cheapest by checking out their best prices.)

Fitted Technology

HX9332/05 (aka. Diamond-Clean): Sonicare Technology

HX9382/05 (aka. Diamond-Clean): Sonciare Technology

These quality toothbrushes share the same integrated and unique Philips sonic technology that allows them to operate up to thirty one thousand rotations and oscillations (i.e brush strokes) within just sixty seconds -- this in turn can then force fluids in to every gap and cranny in your mouth, in turn giving you an almost 'professional' clean (i. fighting harmful plaque, ii. removing stains, hence whitening/polishing teeth and iii. stimulating gums). With regular usage they have been clinically proven to dramatically increase oral health (compared with that of just a manual toothbrush) e.g. within two weeks you will notice a significant improvement in gum health and have teeth two shades 'whiter' (lighter).

Cleaning & Brushing Modes

HX9332: Clean | White | Sensitive | Polish | Gum Care |

HX9382: Clean | White | Sensitive | Polish | Gum Care |

They also come with the same 5 unique brushing modes - that you can use to customize your oral cleaning experience and are the following:

  1. 'Clean' Mode: which is a complete standard mouth cleaning overhaul.
  2. 'White' Mode: removes grubby 'yellow' like stains on your teeth (i.e whiteninig)
  3. 'Sensitive' Mode: produces a softer, less powerful cleaning motion for those with sensitive teeth and/or gums.
  4. 'Polish Mode': often used in conjunction with 'White' mode to brighten teeth.
  5. 'Gum care' Mode: acts to directly stimulate and clean gums.

Practical Features

HX9332:  3 weeks run time | Easy Start, SmarTimer & Quadpacer | Glass Charger | Illuminated Display

HX9382:  3 weeks run time | Easy Start, SmarTimer & Quadpacer | Glass Charger | Illuminated Display

From a single day charge (24 hours) -- they should last you around 40 + uses (2 minutes morning, 2 minutes at night equates to up to 3 weeks). Moreover, they integrate a smartimer to make sure you clean for at the least what the dentists specify as being the optimal length of 2 minutes (with the quadpacer marking every 30 seconds to remind you to switch quadrants -- to get an evenly distributed clean). They also come with a rather clever & unique  'glass' charge - where on contact with the toothbrush -- the glass will charge it (as well as able for use as an actual glass too -- for washing/swilling your mouth out).

Brush Heads

HX9332: 2x Diamond Brush Heads

HX9382: 2x Diamond Brush Heads

The Diamond Brush heads are Philips 'premium' models and have  been specially designed (with vast professional dental input) -- with a contoured shape that fit with precision around the shape of your teeth in order to maximise plaque/stains/grime/bacteria removal and being able to reach and clean right up along your gum line. Moreover, the Diamond brushes have been fitted with ultra soft bristles to allow for maximum comfort whilst brushing (particularly good for those with a sensitive gum/tooth issue).
