Loosing Hair After Pregnancy?

If you happen to be loosing hair after you have just given birth to a child, then do not worry, you are not alone. Many women report that at least at some point in their life they experience hair loss issues after giving birth. In some mothers it is very apparent while in others they do not notice anything at all.

If you are noticing a very unusual amount of hair loss, then you have come to the right place to learn more about why this happens. It will generally start to occur a few weeks or months after your little baby has been born. The this temporary hair loss period can last anywhere between 6-12 months.

When you become pregnant your estrogen levels will sky rocket. As a result you hair will grow longer then it normally would before.

After you give birth your estrogen levels will fall dramtically. As a result your hair will start to die faster as your body is a little bit behind in the hair regrowing phase. So this is why there is really no need to worry about it. It will happen and it will go away eventually.

What Can You Do About?

In all honesty there is really not that much you can do about it except wait. You can try using some hair loss products such as shampoos and creams, although do not get your hopes up. Some of them do work but not everyone experiences success with these types of hair growth products.

The best kind of advice that I can give you is to just take good care of your hair. Try not too put too much stress on it. By this I mean refrain from blow drying it, pulling on it when it is wet, and tying it in ponytails and braids.

Follow simple healthy hair growth tips by eating natural and whole foods. Fruits, vegetables and meats contain the vitamins that are required for strong healthy hair growth.

Do not be afraid to take supplements as well. Vitamins A, B, C, and E are the main one's to look out for. They are responsible for good health growth.

What About Birth Control and Hair Loss?

You might be asking, well if being pregnant effects my estrogen levels, won't taking birth control give a smilar effect as well? The answer is yes, and you might see some hair shedding after you stop taking birth control.

The thing is that everyone is different so it is hard to see what is going to happen. You might experience minor, major, or no hair loss at all.
