The essential fatty acids, found in spinach, walnuts, soy, tuna, sardines, sunflower seeds and canola oil are important in keeping a hair healthy. A balanced nutritional diet prevents losing hair and stimulates hair growth. A proper diet comprising of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, poultry, fish, eggs, beans, nuts and seeds which are a rich source of vital nutrients is important to maintain a healthier hair root. Reduce intake of salt, sugar, cakes, coffee and tea and do not skip meals. Vegetarians are generally prone to hair loss since their meal lack the essential Vitamin B12, iron and lysine. Hence they should opt for supplements as an adequate hair loss prevention product.

Food supplements like B complex, evening primrose oil, fish oil, kelp, lysine, multivitamins and minerals and Vitamin C will also help.
